Description
Yanis was a peasant boy from the village of Petalia on the Greek Island of Corfu. There, tradition dictated that he become a farmer like his father, but Yanis wanted to be a fisherman. Everyone laughed at him – a peasant boy who wanted to be a fisherman! But an older fisherman taught Yanis to fish, and one day when a fisherman fell ill, Yanis was allowed to take his place. His dream had come true – he was becoming a man who had chosen his way.
