Description

A spaceship from an unknown galaxy approaches the third planet in a group of nine planets rotating about a single star. The crew intends to discover whether this planet sustains life forms, and sends down “terrain probes” to explore the planet’s surface. Using both high and low level photography, they analyze the atmosphere and the composition of the earth itself. They gather information about the sun and the planet’s composition of the earth itself. They gather information about the sun and the planet’s rotation, and discover water in its three forms. They see how water plays many roles and learn how new landforms are created as old ones are weathered and eroded. Finally, they discover that the variety of temperatures, available water, and topographic conditions make it possible for life forms to exist. As the end of “solar day” approaches – an exploration of the life forms is designated as the next mission.
