Description

This live-action re-creation of life and conditions in early America includes maps and period graphics to give the geographical and historical importance of pioneer life in United States history. Pioneer settlers were an independent, self-sufficient people. They traveled westward through the wilderness living off the land. When they built their cabins, they leamed the skills necessary to make all of the household things that they needed. The women used spinning wheels to make yarn and the loom was used to weave that yarn into cloth. Looms were handmade, and the process of threading the loom and weaving the cloth is explained. The self-sufficiency of the pioneer family is an important legacy in American history and culture.
