Description
The crew’s second mission: to gather data about the living systems on the planet. The ability of green plants to produce glucose is a significant discovery, and they realize that all life forms are tied to this system. The aerial survey reveals large areas devoted to a single plant species – “probably cultivated.” Then, their first view of an intelligent life form – a humanoid! They learn how the humanoid uses the resources of the land and discover transportation networks.
