Description

This live-action re-creation of life and conditions in early America includes maps and period graphics to give the geographical and historical importance of the mountain men in United States history. In the early 1800’s, reports of the Lewis and Clark Expedition attracted a unique breed of explorers called the mountain men. They spread out through untamed slopes and built a life trapping beaver and other animals for fur trading. The mountain men lived off the land and gathered valuable fur pelts which they traded at the yearly rendezvous. These men traveled all of the land from the Mississippi westward to the Pacific coast. Thus, they left an enduring legacy in American history and culture.
