Description

This updated, live-action re-creation of life and conditions in early America includes maps and period graphics to give the geographical and historical importance of frontier life in United States history. Pioneer settlers were an independent, self-sufficient people. They traveled westward through the wilderness living off the land. When they built their cabins, they learned the skills necessary to make all of the household things that they needed. From building the fire, to preparing the wicks, and dipping the wicks in animal fat, the task of making candles to provide light is explained. The self-sufficiency of the pioneer family is an important legacy in American history and culture.
